With their final regular season indoor meet in the past, the Shorter College track and field team is ready to prepare for the future.

That includes the group of Hawks and Lady Hawks who have qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track National Championships on March 6-8 in Johnson City, Tenn.

"Our coaching staff has really done a great job of mentoring some great athletes both on the men's and women's teams and I am really thankful for that most of all," Shorter director of track and field Scott Byrd said.

"We really have a great group of student-athletes and they are proving how hard they have worked by their Nationals Qualifying marks."

The team, which is only in its second year of existence, saw all three of its men's relay teams qualify for nationals while the women's 4x400-meter relay qualified for the first time in school history.
