Rome, Ga. - The Shorter College Lady Hawks couldn't quite find their rhythm on Thursday night as they were overpowered by the Berry College Lady Vikings, 58-42, in front of a lively crowd at Shorter's Winthrop-King Centre.

A field goal from Shorter's Nicole Frechette got things rolling to start off the game, but Shorter's last lead was a 7-6 margin early on. Berry was 14-of-14 on free throws to end the first half, Berry up 32-21.

The second half fared slightly better for the Lady Hawks as they kept a strong Berry team down to only 26 points.

Frechette, Shorter's lead scorer, scored 13 points and added on a total ten rebounds. Katarina Martinovic also reached double digits with 12 points.

"It was a tough game for us," said head coach Vic Mitchell. "We have a lot to work on between now and Saturday and we just have to move on to the rest of the season."

The Lady Hawks continue their homestand on Saturday as they take on Brewton-Parker at 2 p.m. at Shorter's Winthrop-King Centre.
