Marietta, Ga. - The Shorter College women's basketball won their fifth game in a row on Saturday afternoon beating the Southern Polytechnic State University Lady Hornets, 64-58. Down 54-41 with 4:34 to go, the Lady Hawks went on a 19-4 run to end the game and take the Southern States Athletic Conference contest. "You take it and you're excited," Shorter coach Vic Mitchell said, "but you can't get yourselves in that position many times and win." The duo of Sandra Kostandinovic and Katarina Martinovic once again led the way as they scored 18 and 16 points respectively for the Lady Hawks. Megan Queen finished with 10 as the Lady Hawks went 14-of-17 at the line. The Lady Hawks host Brenau University Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Winthrop-King Centre. |
