Columbia, S.C. - Three days after a bitter one-point loss to rival Berry, the Lady Hawks bounced back with a spirit-lifting 82-70 victory over host Columbia in a Southern States Athletic Conference game Thursday night. Shorter outscored Columbia 49-37 in the final 20 minutes to break open a 33-33 tie at the half. Shorter, playing the second game of a five-game road swing, received a team-high 26 points from Katarina Martinovic while improving to 19-8 overall and 12-5 in the conference. Sandra Kostandinovic added 19 points, and Megan Queen had a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Former Armuchee star Dana Abrams had a game-high eight assists for Shorter. Shorter visits Southern Wesleyan on Saturday. |
