Men's Lacrosse Receives Votes in Latest USILA Coaches Poll

Feb. 25, 2008

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena men's lacrosse team was listed third amongst teams receiving votes in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll announced today. This marks the first time that the Saints are receiving votes in the poll for the first time in program history.

The Green and Gold have gotten off to a 2-0 start this season following a pair of home victories in their season opener against Presbyterian, 19-3 on Feb. 16 and then this past Saturday in a 6-5 decision over Ivy League power Harvard.

The Saints were neither ranked nor receiving votes in the previous preseason poll. Today's poll was the first released since the beginning of the season. Perennial power Johns Hopkins was ranked first in the poll and received eight of 15 first place votes.

Siena returns to action tomorrow afternoon for a 2 p.m. game at cross-town rival UAlbany. The Great Danes are ranked in the USILA poll and check in at 13th overall.
