Freshman Olivia Calcagnini was named MAAC softball Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office. Calcagnini batted .438 and homered three times in six games for the Saints, who participated in the Northwestern State Invitational February 15-17.

Calcagnini (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) hit a game-winning, walk-off home run in the Saints' 6-5 win over Jackson State. She was 3-for-3 in the win over the Tigers with three RBI. In the season opener against Northwestern State, she posted another three-hit game, finishing 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, two runs and two RBI. In the Saints' second game against Northwestern State, she blasted a two run home run.

Calcagnini and the Saints return to action March 15 when they start a week long road trip in Kissimmee, Fla.
