MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Due to inclement weather, the Southern Illinois softball team's final game at the Middle Tennessee Classic has been cancelled. The Salukis were scheduled to face UT-Martin in the consolation game at 3 p.m.

SIU went 1-2 in the tournament, defeating UT-Martin 14-1, while dropping games to Belmont, 2-0, and host Middle Tennessee State, 6-0.

Southern Illinois will host Bradley, Western Illinois, Kansas and the No. 2-ranked Northwestern Wildcats next weekend, March 1-2, for the Kay Brechtelsbauer Southern Classic at Charlotte West Stadium in Carbondale, Ill.

The Salukis take on Western Illinois for their home-opener at 10 a.m. on Saturday to begin the tournament.
