More than 200 Saluki fans packed Samy's Sports Bar in Springfield on Thursday night for the first stop on the Saluki Caravan of coaches, players and administrators.

Head coaches Chris Lowery, Dale Lennon and Dana Eikenberg spoke to the crowd, as well as Director of Athletics Mario Moccia and freshman basketball player Carlton Fay. Kevin Dorsey, the Dean of the School of Medicine at SIU, also spoke. The event was coordinated by the Department of Athletics and the Alumni Association.

"I thought the event was a big success," said Moccia. "We're looking forward to our upcoming stops in St. Louis and Chicago.
