OMAHA, Neb. - Two Southern Illinois University tennis players earned a selection to the 2008 MVC All-Select Team.

Sophomore Lucas Waked was honored for the first time in his career at SIU. Waked was also named to the MVC scholar-athlete honorable mention team this season. As the No. 1 singles player, he finished the season 12-12 overall, 2-4 in the MVC. In doubles, Waked posted an 12-10 overall record, 4-2 in the MVC. The men wrapped up their season ranked No. 4 in the MVC with a 3-3 conference record, 11-13 overall.

On the women's side, Sabine Tsala Mvilongo earned a spot on the All-Select team. She played No. 1 singles this season, boasting a 15-8 singles record, 6-2 in the MVC. In doubles, Tsala carries an 11-12 overall record, with a 2-6 conference record. The women finished their season ranked No. 5, with an 11-12 overall record, 4-4 in conference play.
