HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Southern Mississippi and the Southern Miss ISP Sports Network announced today the addition of WAOY- FM Biloxi /Gulfport to the 2008 baseball radio network. The station will carry selected games for the remainder of the season beginning with this Wednesday's game vs. LSU. "WAOY is very excited about the opportunity to broadcast twelve regular season games as well as the Conference USA tournament," WAOY General Manager Ron Meyers said. "We are proud to bring Southern Miss baseball to Golden Eagle Fans on the Mississippi coast, just as we have been for football and men's basketball." WAOY 91.7 is 100,000 watt station based out of Gulfport that can be heard in south Mississippi, south Alabama and southeastern Louisiana. The station also carries Southern Miss football and men's basketball games as well. "We are very appreciative of WAOY's continuing commitment to Southern Miss Athletics by joining our baseball network for these broadcasts and know that our Golden Eagle fans along the coast are excited as well," Southern Miss ISP Sports General Manager Craig Curtis said. "We also are grateful to those businesses who have stepped forward as sponsors, in particular Billy Hewes, who helped coordinate our local sales efforts." The schedule of games are as follows: April 9 vs. LSU April 12 vs. Arkansas State April 15 vs. MS Valley State April 19 @ Tulane April 23 vs. MS State April 26 vs. Houston April 29 vs. UNO May 3 @ Marshall May 10 vs. Memphis May 13 @ South Alabama May 17 @ UAB All Conference USA Tournament Games (May 21-25)
