HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team went through its first of four practices this week with a 2 ½ hour workout in shoulder pads and shorts at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility here Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Eagles continue to put in pieces of their offensive and defensive schemes as they head into Saturday's annual Black and Gold Spring Game. The team is expected to return to the practice field Thursday and Friday, before unveiling the 2008 Golden Eagles Saturday night at 6 p.m., at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium for the first time. "We still have things we need to install and look at things on film as we continue along with spring practice," said first-year coach Larry Fedora, as his team sets its sights to this weekend's annual spring contest. "Our guys are improving and picking up the system and they just need to continue to adjust at practicing up tempo as we move forward." Tickets for the game are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. The Southern Miss Athletic Department is urging fans to avoid the lines Saturday and purchase their tickets early. Fans can purchase tickets from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., weekdays at the Pat Ferlise Athletic Center Ticket Office on West 4th Street or by calling 1-800-844-TICK (8425). The Felise Center will also be open from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday. Tickets can also be purchased online 24-hours-a-day at SouthernMiss.com. For those individuals attending Wednesday night's LSU baseball game, spring game tickets can be purchased there or during the Friday or Saturday non-conference contests against Arkansas State at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
