HOUSTON, Texas -- The Golden Eagles travel to Houston for the Bayou City Classic a little short-handed, but several athletes turned in season-best performances. Cornelius Duncan was the top finisher in the 400 meters, running a time of 48.78. Danny Banks recorded a season-best time of 7.21 in the 60-meter dash and 24.49 in the 200 meters. JorDon ran a season-best time of 23.30 in the 200 meters. Smith also posted a season-best time of 8.74 in the 60-meter hurdles. Rascive Grant finished sixth in the long jump with a mark of 7.00m. Ricardo Page was sixth in the shot with a throw of 15.55m, while Aaron Ammons was ninth with a throw of 15.16m. Ammons recorded a season-best mark of 15.26m in the weight throw and finished seventh. Southern Miss will compete in the LSU Twilight Invitational, Feb. 22.
