HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Former track and field All-American Cedric Norman (2000-04) recently competed in the high jump at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Ore., and just missed the opportunity to travel to Beijing, China as a member of the Olympic Team.

Norman was one of four performers to record a height of 7'5.25" in the final, finishing fourth. He is scheduled will travel to Slovakia and the Cezch Republic in September to compete in international track and field competitions.

Norman, a two-time All-American, owns the Southern Miss records for both indoor and outdoor.
