HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf team will make its way to Gainesville, Fla. to take part in the Gainesville Shootout III, March 13-15, hosted by the University of Florida. The three-day tournament will take place at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.

Sixteen teams will compete in this event. Southern Miss will be joined by Albany, Appalachian State, Florida, Illinois, Illinois State, Iowa, Louisiana-Monroe, Michigan, Nevada, Texas A&M-Chorpus Christi, UT-Pan American, Texas State, Troy, West Florida and Wofford.

The Lady Eagles earned a second-place finish at last week's USA Lady Jaguar Invitational in Mobile, Ala. Freshman Virginia Espejo finished second place, while Samantha Holt finished in a tie for 19th-place.

First round action will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 on Thursday, followed by 8:45 shotgun starts on Friday and Saturday.
