Summer Ball: In the summer of 2009 pitched for the Peninsula Oilers of the Alaska Summer League, producing a 2.93 ERA over 10 games (eight starts) ... was named the fourth-best prospect in the Alaska League by Baseball America following 55 strikeouts and 25 walks in 43.0 innings, in which he allowed just 22 hits and opponents batted .151 against him ... in the summer of 2010 pitched in the Cape Cod League as one of three Cardinal pitchers for Yarmouth-Dennis ... went 0-2 with a 3.97 ERA over 13 games and two starts ... struck out 15 and walked 17 over 22.2 innings with a .256 opponent batting average.

Stanford Career: Lefthander left the Cardinal after three seasons, going 4-7 with a 5.47 ERA over 65 appearances and nine starts... had four saves over 100.1 innings with 93 strikeouts and 69 walks... opponents hit .267 against him.

As a Freshman in 2009: Pitched in a variety of roles during his rookie collegiate season, finishing with a 1-3 record, one save and a 5.85 ERA over 32.1 innings and 17 games (five starts) ... season ERA would have been over a run lower - 4.26 - if not for a rough collegiate debut in which he allowed six earned runs in just 0.2-inning February 21 versus Vanderbilt (Game 1) ... worked 2.1 innings of one-hit shutout relief on the road against eventual CWS participant Cal State Fullerton ... made his first career start March 8 versus Texas, working 3.1 innings and suffering the loss ... blanked the Longhorns through the first 3.0 frames, but was knocked out in the fourth ... recorded the game's final two outs and stranded the tying run at second for his first collegiate save March 22, closing out Stanford's 6-5, 12-inning win at California ... threw two-hit, shutout ball over a careerhigh 4.0 innings March 30 at Pacific ... earned his first career win with 3.0-scoreless innings in an April 20 start versus Santa Clara giving up four hits, pitching Stanford to an 11-0 victory.
