International Competition: At the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, swam the fastest 200-meter fly in the prelims (1:56.69) and semifinals (1:56.06), before finishing third in the finals with a time of 1:55.79... finished tenth in the 100 fly (52.8) after the ninth-fastest 100 fly prelim (52.92) at the 2012 Trials.... swam 26th at Trials in the 200 free prelims (1:50.43) and was 25th in the 400 IM (4:24.96)... swimming for the Americans, placed second in the 200 fly with a time of 1:56.06 at the World University Games in China in 2011 to win a silver medal... Took home gold in the 200 fly and won a silver and bronze medal in his home pool at Stanford at the 2011 U.S. Nationals... paced the field in the 200 fly with a time of 1:56.54 and swam the second leg for both the second place 4x200 medley relay squad and for the third place 4x100 medley relay team. Also ninth in the A Finals of the 100 fly (53.45) and 18th in the 200 free (1:51.42)... had the fifth-best 200 butterfly time by an American in the summer of 2010 following U.S. Nationals... swam at the 2010 ConoccoPhillips National Championships in August, finishing fourth in the 200 fly (1:57.47) and reaching the consolation finals of the 100 fly, where he was 11th overall... also swam at the 2010 Los Angeles Grand Prix that same summer, finishing third in the 200 fly and fourth in the 100 fly. Also reached the consolation finals of the 200 free, 200 IM and the 400 free... at the 2009 World University Games in Serbia, was fifth in the 200 butterfly... Also competed at the U.S. Open in Federal Way, Wash., where he won a silver in the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 1:55.87, just .15 seconds behind the leader... finished second in the "B" Finals of the 400 individual medley, breaking his personal-best by two seconds with a time of 4:19.53 in the Finals... also reached the Finals of the 100 butterfly, where he was seventh (53.54) and was fifth in the "B" Finals of the 400 (3:55.36)... was also seventh in the 200 (1:50.69), after the fourth-best preliminary time (1:50.06).

2011-12 (Senior): First team Academic All-American... Named the Pac-12's Scholar Athlete of the Year for swimming following a 3.75 cum GPA... finished his career as a 14-time All-American with 109 points at NCAAs following a third place finishing in the 800 free relay, eighth place showing in the 500 free (4:22.80) and four place finish in the 200 fly (1:42.45)... just missed All-America status in the 100 fly, finishing 17th... at his final Pac-12 meet, was fourth in the 200 fly (1:43.83) and 14th in the 500 free (4:25.20)... finished his career with a school-record in the 200 fly (1:40.76), set in 2011 and also No. 3 all-time in 200 free (2009) and 500 free (2009) and fourth in the 100 fly (2011)... during the regular season won the Pacific Invite, Arena Invite, Cal Tri-Meet and never lost a dual meet in the 200 fly against Utah, USC, Cal, Pacific, Arizona in the 200 fly... only loss in the 200 fly during the regular season was in a 200 fly meet with USC and Cal, in which he was edged by Cal's Tom Shields by .05 seconds... set a pool record in Long Beach in the 200 fly (1:43.47) in the fall... also won the Cal Tri-Meet 100 fly in the fall... first team academic All-Pac-12 and first team academic all-district.

2010-2011 Season (Junior): NCAA runner-up in the 500 free and 200 fly as a part of four All-America honors his junior season... swam .16 seconds slower than Georgia's Mark Dylla in the 200 fly finals (1:40.76) to set the school-record on day one, before finishing second to Virginia's Matt McLean in the 500 free (4:13.94) on the final day for the third place Cardinal... also finished sixth to teammate Austin Staab in the 100 fly (45.92)... also a part of the fourth place 800 free relay team... ranked third nationally in the 500 free and 200 fly and 11th in the 200 free... Pac-10 runner-up in the 500 free and 200 fly and was sixth in the 100 fly to Staab's top time... also part of winning 800 free relay team at Pac-10s, leading off en route to a time of 6:19.17... finished first in the 200 fly and second in the 200 free at the Cal, USC and Arizona dual meets... won the 200 free against ASU... picked off a couple of wins at the Long Beach Arena Invite with wins in the 500 free and 200 fly, as well as the meet record setting 400 medley relay team... was second to Cal's Tom Shields in the Tri-Distance of the 50, 100 and 200 butterfly combined event in the fall... Academic All-Pac-10... first team Academic All-American and first team Academic All-District VIII by CoSIDA.

2009-2010 Season (Sophomore): Three-time All-American as part of the third place 400 medley relay and seventh place 800 freestyle relay...placed third in the 200 butterfly at the NCAAs with a school-record 1:41.54 time...Pac-10 Champion in the 200 butterfly and 400 IM with times of 1:41.84 and 3:45.05 respectively... part of record breaking 400 medley relay team set at the NCAAs.

2008-09 Season (Freshman): Four-time All-American, earning a certificate in the 200 butterfly and freestyle, the 500 freestyle and as a part of the 800 freestyle relay... also won the 200-yard butterfly at the Pac-10 Championships... had the NCAA's fifth fastest 200 butterfly time during the season(1:41.79)... also posted the 21st-fastest NCAA time in the 200 freestyle (1:34.13) and 14th-fastest 500 freestyle (4:14.75)... won the conference championship in the 200 butterfly (1:42.92), with the third-fastest time in Cardinal history... finished fourth in the 200 butterfly at the NCAAs.

High School: A member of the 2008 Junior National Team...Olympic trials finalist in the 100 and 200 fly and qualifier in the 200 free, 400 free, 200 IM and 400 IM...swam NCAA `A' standard equivalent in the 200 and 500 free and the 100 and 200 fly...2008 U.S. Open high-point winner...competed in the 2008 Victorian championships in Melbourne, Australia...selected to compete for the United States in the 2009 World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia.
