Golf finishes in 10th place at Towson University Lacrosse Homes Invitational
March 30, 2008
GRANSONVILLE, Md. - Despite improved weather conditions, the St. Bonaventure golf team was unable to make up any ground on the final day of the Towson University Lacrosse Homes Invitational finishing in 10th place on Sunday at the challenging Prospect Bay Country Club. The difficult par-72, 6,761 yard course yielded just one score under 70 as champion Longwood University (598) was the only team to break a two-day score of 600. Medalist Michael Mulieri from Loyola College recorded the three-under par 69 on Sunday. The Bonnies finished the tournament with a team score of 311-314/625. Senior Ryan Swanson overcame a triple bogey on the front nine to card a gutsy 77 on the day. Swanson paired today's round with Saturday's one-over par 73 to finish in a tie for eighth place individually. Sophomore Nathan Peck improved by 11 strokes from yesterday's round to record the team's best round of the day at three-over par 75. Senior Andy Whalen concluded his two rounds at 79-80/159, while junior Brennan Payne accounted for the fourth score with an 82. St. Bonaventure will have a few weeks away from tournament-action before it heads to Princeton, N.J., for the Princeton University Invitational. The two-day tournament will begin on Saturday, April 12.
