Bonnies knock off Richmond 2-0

Richmond, Va. - The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory against A-10 foe Richmond on Friday night under the lights at First Market Stadium. With the win, St. Bonaventure improves to 5-6-4 overall and 3-4-1 in the conference, while Richmond drops to 2-12-3 overall and 1-4-3 in the A-10. The Bonnies outshot Richmond 12-11 overall and 4-3 on shots on goal. The Bonnies got on the board first in the 40th minute, when sophomore Brett Allen slid in his second goal of the season off a pass from Kevin Mjaatvedt to put the Brown and White up 1-0 The Bonnies would add on an insurance goal in the 2nd half, when in the 84th minute junior Samuel Maheu hammered home his fourth goal of the season to put the Brown and White ahead to stay 2-0. Bonnie goalkeeper David Flynn notched his fifth shutout of the season stopping all three shots he faced for the evening. St. Bonaventure returns to action on Sunday, November 9, when they travel to George Washington. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex.
