ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Junior Samuel Maheu was named to the 2008-09 Atlantic 10 All-Conference honorable mention team in voting conducted by conference head coaches, announced Wednesday afternoon.

This is the second Atlantic 10 nomination that Maheu has received in his career. Maheu garnered an Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection for his efforts in the 2006 season.

Maheu led the Brown and White in four statistical categories including, shots, goals, assists and points for the season.

Maheu totaled 43 shots, five goals, three assists and 13 points on the year, all team-highs. His best games came during a three game point streak against Atlantic 10 schools UMass, Rhode Island and Duquesne. During that streak Maheu notched his lone game-winning goal against Rhode Island on October, 18.

Maheu started all 16 games this season for the Bonnies and has appeared in 49 out of a possible 49 games for his career. The Ottawa, Ontario product carries career totals of 11 goals, seven assists, and 29 points.

The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team finished the season tied for eighth place in the A-10 standings. With most of the key contributors coming back from this year's team, including Maheu, the Bonnies will look to improve upon their 6-6-4 overall record next season.
