Hastrich named A-10 Player of the Week

April 13, 2009

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse junior Molly Hastrich was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Hastrich is the first Bonnie to earn an Atlantic 10 Weekly nomination this season, and is the first St. Bonaventure player to garner a Player of the Week nomination since Katelyn Faas won the award back on April 23, 2007.

Hastrich finished with 13 points, on the strength of 10 goals and three assists, for the Bonnies during a 2-0 week. St. Bonaventure beat Fresno State 17-4 on April 7, and followed that up with a 13-9 win over Siena on April 10.

In the Fresno State game, Hastrich tied her season-high with seven total points on five goals and two assists in the Brown and White's win. The Horseheads, N.Y. native capped her week with a six-point performance in the Bonnies win over Siena, with five goals and one assist.

On the season, Hastrich leads the team in shots (87), goals (48) and points (60). Her brilliant junior campaign has shot her up the St. Bonaventure record books as well. Hastrich currently sits in 10th on the Bonnies all-time scoring list with 100 career points. She also sits in fifth on the most points in a single season list, with 67, and third on the most goals scored in a single season in St. Bonaventure program history, with 53.

St. Bonaventure (7-7) is back in action on Monday when they host A-10 foe Duquesne at McGraw Jennings Field. Game time is set for 3:00 pm.
