ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure women's soccer junior defender Sarah Wolcott has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Scholar All-East Region team.

A philosophy and pre-law major, Wolcott sports a 3.42 cumulative grade point average. Her solid season and academic achievements helped land her honorable mention All-Region accolades.

A native of Olean, N.Y., Wolcott started all 18 games that she played in on defense. Wolcott helped a much-improved Bona defense post five shutouts in 2008. In the 18 games she played, the Bonnies gave up an average of 1.3 goals per game and surrendered more than two goals once.

St. Bonaventure turned in one of the most memorable seasons in program history as the Bonnies finished 11-8-1 overall for the 10th winning season in program history and the first in six seasons. The Brown and White also won a program record six Atlantic 10 games en route to earning the second postseason berth in school history.

The Bonnies will return all 20 players from this year's roster in 2009. The youthful Bona roster featured two juniors, seven sophomores and 11 freshmen this past season.
