Bonnies split matches at Dayton
March 8, 2008
DAYTON, Ohio - The St. Bonaventure men's and women's tennis team split a pair of matches with the Flyers on Friday as the men posted a 6-1 victory, while the women's side dropped a 7-0 decision at Dayton Center Courts. The men's side picked up their first win following consecutive defeats to improve to 3-5 on the spring season. The Brown and White dominated singles play as the club was victorious in five of six matches en route to five points. Thanks to triumphs in the second and third doubles matches, Bona added the doubles point as well. Dayton managed just two victories on the day as the Flyers fared well in both the top flights of singles and doubles action. Freshmen Enric Larregola and Chris Post along with junior Jonathan Luce all posted perfect marks on the day with victories in both of their singles and doubles sets. The women's side continued their spring swoon as they dropped their sixth straight contest and fourth shutout defeat of the spring to fall to 3-6 in 2007-08. Dayton tallied victories in all six singles and three doubles sets to cruise to victory. Saturday's matches at Xavier have been cancelled due to weather. The men's team will return to action on Saturday, March 15 when George Washington visits St. Bonaventure, while the women's side will travel to Duquesne on Friday, March 14 for a 3:00 p.m. meeting with the Dukes.
