QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's men's golf team traveled to Springfield, La. to compete in the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University. Winds swirled at the two day event making play difficult for all golfers. St. John's, 922 (320, 301, 301), battled to a seventh place tie on the final day with strong showings by senior co-captain Keegan Bradley and sophomore Mike Ballo Jr. Bradley, two-over 218 (78, 71, 69), fought back from a tough day one to record low round scores in his next two run-throughs and end the tournament in second place. His 69 in the final round was the lowest score of the tournament. For his efforts, Bradley was named to the All-Tournament Team. The All-America Candidate has a first and second place finish and three top ten placements in his first three outings of the year. Sophomore Ballo Jr., 10-over 226 (81, 74, 71), also bounced back nicely from a tough round one. His 71 in round three was the third lowest score of the round and put him into a tie for 12th. Ballo Jr. now has three top 20 finishes on the season. The Red Storm will travel Greenville, N.C. on April 4-6 to compete in the Ironwood Invitational hosted by East Carolina. The three day event will be held at the Ironwood Country Club. For the most up-to-date schedules, scores, and recaps please visit www.RedStormSports.com.
