RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Red Storm track & field senior thrower Dominique Eason earns the Red Storm's second-straight Metropolitan Championship weight throw title on day one of the Metropolitan Championships hosted by New York University at Manhattan College and the Armory, Thursday and Friday. Eason's distance of 15.07 meters (49' 5.5") made her the top competitor at the Metropolitan Championships and was also good for a third place finish at the historic Millrose Games. Last season, then-senior Tetee Kuyatee also took home the Metropolitan weight throw title and finished fifth at the 2007 Millrose Games. Freshman Rachel Williams of Kingston, N.Y. finished fifth in the event with a distance of 11.99 meters (39' 4"). With Eason's top score, St. John's leads the field of 16 schools going into the second day of competition.
