April 30, 2005, Philadelphia, PA - The St. John's University track and field team competed at the historic Penn Relays this weekend at Franklin Field. The Red Storm is in preparation and is looking to make another impressive performance on May 6-8 at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships in Piscataway, N.J. Kellie Brown placed third in the Eastern division heat with a outstanding distance of 5.78m. The 4x00m relay team also finished third in the "ECAC" division with a time of 1:39.49, while the 4x800m relay team finished sixth in its heat at 9:13.89. On Thursday, Senior Blessing Egwu placed second in the hammer throw with distance of 56.64, closely behind Jen Wynn of the University of Florida. In the relay events, the 4x400m team placed with a time of 3:55.19 for the Red Storm. The Red Storm returns to action on Friday, May 6 for the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J.
