PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's standouts Rebecca Cunfer and Pat Calathes were named the Outstanding Senior Student-Athletes at the annual Saint Joseph's Athletic Awards Ceremony and will each receive the Class of 1950 award at the University's Commencement on May 10. In addition, student-athletes from every team were honored, including the Outstanding Player for each squad.

Cunfer, the Hawks' goalkeeper, was named the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season. She was selected to both the 2007 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team and the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team while helping the Hawks reach the conference title game. Cunfer, an international relations and political science major, is a three-time honoree on the A-10 All-Academic Team.

Calathes led the Hawks in scoring (17.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg) this season while earning Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team and A-10 All-Championship Team honors. The 6-10 guard was named the Big 5 Co-Player of the Year and helped the Hawks reach the conference title game and the NCAA Tournament. Calathes, a marketing major, finished his career with 1,251 points and 630 rebounds, becoming one of just 26 players in school history to record over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
