PHILADELPHIA - Posting back-to-back double-doubles last week, Saint Joseph's freshman center Sarah Acker was selected Philadelphia Big 5 Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week and Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the week of February 4-10.

Averaging 14.5 points and 11.5 rebounds, Acker led the Hawks to wins over Saint Louis and Duquesne, helping SJU improve to 13-10 overall and 5-3 in conference play. Against the Billikens Wednesday, Acker poured in a team-high 17 points, while adding 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocks in the Hawks' 65-44 victory. On Saturday, the Nanticoke, Pa., native posted 12 points and 12 rebounds, to go with three assists and a season-high four blocks in Saint Joseph's 59-56 win over Duquesne.

The Hawks leading scorer (12.6 ppg) and rebounder (8.3 rpg), Acker currently leads the A-10 in shooting percentage at 60.7 percent (122-of-201), while her 36 blocks rank ninth all-time in Saint Joseph's single-season records. It is the first Big 5 weekly honor for Acker, while it is her third A-10 Rookie of the Week accolade this season. She shares the Big 5 honor with Villanova's Lisa Karcic.

The Hawks travel to Charlotte for a Tuesday meeting at Halton Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
