Women's Rowing Team Heads to San Diego Crew Classic

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team will face its toughest competition of the year so far when it travels to the San Diego Crew Classic this weekend, April at 5-6 Crown Point Shores Park at Mission Bay. A total of 27 SJU oarswomen will participate in the meet, which is the largest group ever to represent the Hawks. "We have a lot of seniors and wanted to give them all as many seats as possible to make the trip," said SJU coach Gerry Quinlan. "This is an exciting time for the Hawks. The Varsity 8 has earned one of the three number one seeds, the 2nd Varsity 8 is in the midst of a tremendous season and the Freshman 8 is currently undefeated. The competition will be fierce but we have trained hard for this weekend," stated Quinlan. The races can be viewed live on a webcast at the official website, www.crewclassic.org, or by clicking here.
