Byars broke the 200 free record with a time of 1:41.44 in the leadoff leg of the 800-free relay. He went on to tie his own SLU record in the 100 free (45.27). PURELY ACADEMIC: Saint Louis senior Brad Byars earned his second straight Academic All-Conference accolade en route to being selected as the 2008 A-10 Men's Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Year. He joins former SLU swimmer Christopher Johansen (the 2006 winner) as the only Billikens in program history to achieve the honor. Sophomore Anna Larson garnered a spot on the women's Academic All-Conference squad for the first time in her career.
