Saint Louis rising sophomore Damian Rivera (Miami, Fla. / Braddock) was named the Pitcher of the Year in the 2011 Texas Collegiate League.

Playing for the Brazos Valley Bombers in Bryan, Texas, Rivera posted a 7-0 record, a 2.01 ERA and 33 strikeouts. His victory total tied for the league lead, and his ERA ranked second in the TCL. Rivera was named to the TCL All-Star Game and twice earned Pitcher of the Week honors from the league. With his help, the Bombers reached the TCL Championship Series. Rivera registered a 3-1 record and a 3.11 ERA in his freshman season for the Billikens.
