LOUISVILLE - Saint Louis and No. 20 Louisville played to a scoreless draw this afternoon in men's soccer exhibition action at Cardinal Park.

The Billikens move to 0-0-2 in the exhibition season and now welcome SIU Edwardsville Friday in the final exhibition match of the season. Kickoff at Robert R. Hermann Stadium is slated for 7 p.m.

Louisville, the reigning Big East red division regular-season champions, hit a post and the crossbar in the opening half. In all, the Cardinals put up six shots in the first stanza but could not score off the Billiken defense, anchored by freshman keeper Nick Shackelford. On the other end, the Billikens put three balls on frame in the first half.

Sophomore keeper Mark Pais came on in the second half and secured the shutout by making two saves, including a stop in the final seconds on a Louisville free kick. Freshman forward Adnan Gabeljic led the Bills with two shots, while sophomores Benny Estes and Alex Sweetin each recorded a shot on goal. Senior Stephen Bortolon also registered a shot for the Billikens, who were outshot 14-5 on the day.
