Final Stats

Athens, Ohio - Nicole Kent scored the first goal of the season for Saint Louis, but host Ohio tripped up the Billikens 6-1 on Sunday in Athens, Ohio. The Bobcats used two goals in the tenth minute for the only scores they would need.

"We played well in stretches, and we had a strong second half," Billiken head coach Lauren Bruce said. "I was pleased with how we executed on the penalty corner, and Chelsea Hower and Kelsey Shultz did a good job setting Nicole up to finish. Nearly all of our freshmen played and they did positive things for us."

Just over two minutes after taking a 2-0 advantage, Ohio added on to the lead with a goal in the 12th minute. After the Bobcats stretched out their lead, the Billikens pushed forward to earn a penalty corner in the 61st minute. With nice touches by Hower and Shultz leading to a great chance, Kent took advantage and drilled home SLU's first goal of the season. The Billikens made rushes in the second half but were unable to add a second score.

Alex LaBarge faced 12 shots in the first half and made five saves, while Ohio-native Katherine Deem played the second half and finished with six saves. The Billikens dip to 0-2 on the season, while the Bobcats improve to 1-1.
