PITTSBURGH - Sophomore Maggie Baumann (Wildwood, Mo./St. Joseph's) scored her first goal of the season in the 79th minute, and Saint Louis registered its third consecutive shutout as the Billikens blanked Marist 1-0 Sunday in the Duquesne Classic.

Baumann's unassisted goal at the 78:07 mark, her second career tally, held up to give the Billikens (1-1-2) their first victory of the season. It was part of a second-half onslaught that saw Saint Louis launch 11 total shots and six shots on goal. For the game, SLU outshot Marist (0-2) 15-9 overall and 7-2 in shots on frame.

Nine Billikens recorded at least one shot, led by senior Christina Brown (St. Charles, Mo./Duchesne), who had four total -- tying her career high -- and two on goal. Baumann and sophomore Alli Reimer (St. Charles, Mo./Duchesne) had two shots on goal apiece.

Sophomore Katie Walsh (Chesterfield, Mo./Whitfield) made two saves and notched her first victory in goal as a Billiken. Jamie Balzarini played the first 72:33 between the posts for Marist and turned away six Saint Louis shots on goal before being relieved by Caitlin Landsman, who surrendered Baumann's game-winning marker.

The Billikens travel to Dallas Friday, Sept. 3, to take on SMU. Game time is 7 p.m.
