Box Score

Eugene, OR - The Saint Mary's women's lacrosse team dropped a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game to the Oregon Ducks by a score of 20-3 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Saint Mary's falls to 2-12 overall and 0-3 in MPSF play. Oregon improved to 10-5 overall and 2-3 in MPSF play.

Oregon opened a 6-0 lead before the Gaels scored their first goal of the game at the 18:22 mark. The Amy Daniels goal was assisted by Maggie Schwab. Oregon answered with three straight goals to open a 9-1 lead with less than seven minutes left in the first half. The Gaels closed the first half with goals by P.J. Hainley and Lisa Vogeley. The Vogeley goal came with 2:47 left in the first half, but that would be the final time SMC would find the back of the next.

After Oregon starting goalkeeper Anna Poponyak allowed three goals with two saves in the first half, the duo of Sam Debow and Hannah Jones would combine to shutout the Gaels in the second half of the game. Debow and Jones collected five combined saves in the second half.

Lindsay Killian led Oregon, Jen May and Jana Bradley, as all three players scored three goals for the Ducks. Killian added one assist to lead the team with four total points. Casey Rector, Jenny Browne and Ilsa van den Berg had two goals each. Oregon had seven players tally at least three points in the game.

Saint Mary's will return to action on Sunday, April 20 when the Gaels travel to UC Davis for a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game.
