She was among 15 Brookhaven residents recognized for excellence in their professional endeavors at an awards ceremony, held at Brookhaven Town Hall on March 13.

Each year in celebration of National Women's History Month, the town honors the accomplishments of outstanding women who have made significant contributions to the quality of life in Brookhaven based on a variety of endeavors, ranging from education, to medicine and community service. There were awards for 15 categories. A SBU professional won in three of the categories - Ms. Koshansky (Sports), Dr. Nanci Rice, Vice Chair, School of Health Technology and Management (Education), and Dr. Kanokporn (Noy) Rithidech, Associate Professor of Research Pathology (Science).
