Des Moines, Iowa - Senior Dana Hastie (Wellington, New Zealand) finished 15th in the women's 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Drake University on Thursday night. Hastie is the first Stony Brook track & field athlete to compete in the NCAA Championships.

Hastie's time of 35:19.73 is just five seconds off the school-record pace she ran earlier this season at the Mount SAC Relays to qualify for the Championships. Hastie entered the race with the 19th fastest time in the country and improved her position by four spots.
