Feb. 26, 2008
Stony Brook, N.Y. - Senior Shaun Krawitz (Aukland, New Zealand), senior Dana Hastie (Wellington, New Zealand) and sophomore Laura Huet (Carrickmines, Ireland) were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team, according to a release from the association yesterday. To be eligible for the award, students must carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours through the 2007 fall term. The athletes must also finish in the top-15 or top-ten percent at their respective NCAA regional meet or receive All-America honors. Krawitz crossed 16th at this year's Northeast Regional, while Hastie and Huet finished 14th and 17th respectively. Both the Seawolves' men's and women's cross country teams were also honored by the USTFCCCA, with both squads being named All-Academic Teams. Both teams were eligible for the award because they competed and compiled a team score at the NCAA Northeast Regional Meet and had a minimum team cumulative grade point average of 3.00.
