Witkowski Named America East Baseball Player of the Week

Cambridge, Mass. - Junior Brian Witkowski (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named America East Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday after he led the Seawolves to a series victory against Maine over the weekend. It is the second time this season he has earned the award. Witkowski finished the week with a .500 batting average (10-for-20) including three doubles and three home runs in addition to posting an on-base percentage of .583 and a slugging percentage of 1.100. He also scored 10 runs and had eight RBI. The junior outfielder went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI in a midweek win over Hofstra and then slugged three hits, two runs and three RBI in the opening game against Maine on Friday. He then drove in three runs and scored four in the Seawolves victory over the Black Bears in the series finale on Sunday. The Seawolves return to action on Tuesday, traveling to take on Iona. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
