McBride Named America East Rookie of the Week for Second Time

March 24, 2008

Cambridge, Mass. - Freshman Jordan McBride (New Westminster, British Columbia) has been named the America East Rookie of the Week in men's lacrosse for the second straight week the league announced today. It is the fourth time this season that a Seawolf has earned the honor.

McBride led or shared the lead in goals in both of Stony Brook's games last week. Against Lafayette he followed up his 10-goal game at Delaware with a six-goal performance to lead the Seawolves to a 12-8 win over the Leopards. Five of his goals came in the first half as Stony Brook built a 7-4 halftime lead. In the close battle with #20 Denver on Saturday he was one of four players to score twice for the Seawolves in a 14-13 last second loss. McBride's 25 goals this season are already more than the top goal scorer in 2007 for the Seawolves and he is just three shy of reaching the top-20 list for goals in a season at SBU.

Stony Brook will be back in action tomorrow at home, hosting Marist at 7:00 p.m. in LaValle Stadium.
