Stony Brook Opens America East Championship Play on Thursday

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook's men's lacrosse team will get an immediate chance to turn the tables on Albany after dropping a close game to the Great Danes on Saturday. Stony Brook and Albany will meet again in one semifinal of the America East Championship on Thursday in Baltimore, Maryland. The No. 3 seed Seawolves and No. 2 seed Great Danes will face-off on May 1 at UMBC at 4:00 p.m. in the first game of the championships. Host UMBC, the No. 1 seed, and No. 4 seed Binghamton will play after the Stony Brook-Albany clash at 7:30 p.m. Featuring one of the top offenses in the country, Stony Brook enters the championships as the top scoring team in the America East, averaging over 12 goals per game. The Seawolves are led by freshmen Jordan McBride (New Westminster, British Columbia) and Kevin Crowley (New Westminster, British Columbia) who are No. 1 and No. 2 in the conference in points per game. McBride leads the conference with 43 goals, while Crowley and senior Rhys Duch (Victoria, British Columbia) are tops in the league with 26 assists. Tickets for the tournament are on sale now and available through the UMBC Retrievers Ticket Center. All-session passes for adults will be $15, while all-session tickets for youths 14 and under and America East students with a valid ID will be sold for $4. Individual tickets will be $8 for adults and $2 for youths and America East students.
