The Stony Brook women's basketball team hosts the UMBC Retrievers Wednesday at the Stony Brook Arena. The game will be broadcast by Jeff Bernstein on WUSB 90.1. The game also marks Stony Brook's participation in "Think Pink" night. "Think Pink" is part of the women's basketball coaches association's initiative to raise breast cancer awareness. Stony Brook will wear pink shooting shirts, headbands and sweatbands.

Last Time vs. UMBC
Senior Dana Ferraro (Middlesex, N.J.) had 14 points and nine rebounds and sophomore Kairsten Nunn (Bowie, Md) had a career-high 14 points but UMBC shot 14-15 from the free throw line including four in the final minute to defeat the Stony Brook women's basketball team, 61-56 at the RAC on Saturday evening.

The final minutes of the game featured four lead changes and three ties. Stony Brook got within two after Nunn's three with just over a minute to play. Carlee Cassidy converted a three-point play on the other end to give UMBC a five-point advantage and a lead it held for the rest of the game.

Ferraro's 14 and 9 earned her America East player of the game. Along with Nunn's 14 points, Jeter chipped in with 10. UMBC was led by Cassidy's 23 points even though she shot just 6-23 from the field to be named America East player of the game. Kristin Drabyn added 17 points to help the Retrievers.

It's Good to be Home
After playing the first six of nine conference games on the road, the Seawolves play the final five of seven at home. The road has not been kind to Stony Brook. It is 1-11 on the road compared to 4-4 at home.

Jetes Leads
Freshman Kirsten Jeter has been the steadiest player for the Seawolves the past few games. The Nassau County native is averaging 14.3 ppg and 5.0 rpg and has led the team in scoring two of the last four games.

Seawolves fall at Vermont, 71-51
Amy Rosenkrantz had a game-high 22 points to lead four Vermont scorers in double figures as it shot 60 percent in the second half and defeated the Stony Brook women's basketball team 71-51, at Patrick Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Kirsten Jeter (Elmont, N.Y.) led the Seawolves with team-highs of 16 points and five rebounds.

After Vermont went back up 30-19 and even with the Seawolves poor shooting in the first half, they were down by only seven at halftime. On consecutive possessions, senior Morgan Patrick (Burlington, N.J.) hit a layup and freshman Misha Horsey (Wyncote, Pa.) rebounded sophomore Joia Daniels' (Silver Spring, Md.) missed layup in transition.
