Cambridge, Mass. - Junior Kaitlin Leggio (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and freshman Melissa Cook (Bay Shore, N.Y.) have been named America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the conference announced on Monday. The duo totaled 21 points on 15 goals and six assists.

Leggio and Cook combined for six goals and three assists in an 18-11 win over Sacred Heart. They followed up that performance with a combined nine goals in a 18-9 victory over Monmouth.

The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team hosts Vermont in its America East opener on Saturday afternoon at 12 pm.
