LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Mississippi Valley State swept Lyon and Philander Smith in a tri-match on Saturday in Little Rock, Ark. Valley defeated Lyon 3-2 (25-21, 23-24, 13-25, 25-22, 15-12) before blanking Philander Smith, 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-17).
Lonnie Huff totaled 34 kills and 13 digs on the day to pace the Devilettes. Maura Moed contributed 27 kills, eight blocks and six aces.

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. - The UMKC volleyball team defeated Grambling State, 3-1 on the final day of the Arkansas Invitational. Elizabeth Beck led UMKC with with a team-high 15 kills and 10 digs.
UMKC took the first two sets before Grambling answered with a set three win. UMKC had a four-point lead before Grambling tied the set late at 18. The Tiger would then take their first lead at 20-19 before serving for set point at 24-20. UMKC tied the score at 24, but Grambling scored two of the final three points to capture the set.
Chelsey Goins was named to the Arkansas Invitational All-Tournament team for GSU.
Grambling lost 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-12) to the host Razorbacks in the first match of the day.

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Georgia Tech volleyball team (1-1) swept Alabama A&M (0-2), 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-14), Saturday afternoon at O'Keefe Gym in the Courtyard Marriott Classic.
The Bulldogs dropped its nightcap to the Indiana Hoosiers, 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-11).

JONESBORO, Ark. - Arkansas-Pine Bluff wrapped up action at the ASU Invite with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, and 25-15) loss to Northwestern State on Saturday.
Kourtney Adams led NSU with 10 kills and a .529 attack percentage. UAPB was held to a .071 attack percentage as it managed just 16 kills on 56 attacks with 12 attacking errors.

JACKSON, Miss. - North Texas slipped past Jackson State, 3-1 (27-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-13) in Saturday afternoon action at the Jackson State Invitational.
The Lady Tigers improved their record to 2-2 with a 3-1 (20-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-18) victory over Louisiana-Monroe in the tournament finale.
Against ULM, Chyna Coleman led all players with 18 kills, LaToya Clark posted a match-high 40 assists and Teri Braddock added 19 digs. The Tigers out-hit ULM .181 to .092 for the match and also won the battle at the net with 10 blocks compared to eight by the Warhawks.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - Grace Hill recorded 13 kills and 11 digs as the Marist volleyball team defeated Prairie View A&M 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 27-25, 25-17) on Saturday in the team's third match of the Comfort Suites Sam Houston State University Invitational.
Prairie View (0-3) took a slim 6-5 lead in the first set before Marist responded with five unanswered points fpr a 10-6 lead With the set tied 16-16, the Panthers regained the lead on a kill by Cheri Lindsay and a service ace by Erin Fondel. Marist then crept to within one point late in the set, 21-20, but Prairie View held on for the 25-20 win on a service ace from Breanna McNeil.
Against Louisiana-Lafayette set one, Louisiana trailed by three points (4-7) early in the first but used a 10-to-3 run to take a 17 point lead. Prairie View A&M roared back with an eight point rally to make it an even, 17-17 contest but held on for the 25-20 win. The Ragin Cajuns used a six-point swing in the midway segment of set two to take a commanding 21-14 advantage.
