Senior Chris Norris (Katy, TX/Katy HS) saved his longest jump of the season for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships being held in Greencastle, IN as he took first place in the long jump, reaching the NCAA Provisional mark and setting a new SU record. Norris' jump of 6.99 meter (22-11.25 feet) was a full quarter of a meter longer than the second place distance and was .03 meters past the provisional distance, giving him a chance at reaching the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships. His previous best distance was 6.78 meters, set at the first meet of the 2008 season. Scott Smith (Houston, TX/Jersey Village HS) placed seventh with a distance of 6.31 meters while Micah Salinas (San Antonio, TX/Highlands HS) took ninth, jumping 6.15 meters. Allen Smith (Dallas, TX/Shelton School) posted a time of 36:57.76 in the 10,000 meter run, finishing 11th. In the women's shot put, LaToya Alexander (San Antonio, TX/Communication Arts HS) recorded a distance of 9.72 meters for a ninth place finish.
