After the second round at the NCAA Division III Championship in Waverly, IA on Wednesday (May 14), the Southwestern University women's golf team is 53 strokes over par and trails leader Methodist by 13 strokes. Cody Wallace (Austin, TX/Lake Travis HS), a sophomore, shot the lowest round of the day for the Pirates as she came in with a 76. She is shooting 163 (87-76) for the tournament and is tied for 38th. Marisa Mauldin (Utopia, TX/Utopia HS) is the top overall SU player with a two-round tally of 154 (76-78), good for an eighth-place tie. Sophomore Kristen Davenport (Mansfield, TX/Mansfield HS) is shooting 160 (76-84) through two rounds while Delilah Dominguez (Bastrop, TX/Bastrop HS) owns a 161 (79-82). Davenport is tied for 29th while Dominguez is tied for 32nd. First-year Victoria Dominguez (Bastrop, TX/Bastrop HS) sits in a 34th-place tie and has a 162 (78-84) after the second round. Southwestern now has a total team score of 629 (309-320), 13 strokes behind leader Methodist University. DePauw University, also a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference member, shot an identical 320 to remain six strokes behind the Pirates. SU will play round three on Thursday (May 15) with the Pirates' tee times beginning at 12:50 pm.
