First Day Results in PDF Format

After 36 holes on the first day of the UCO/Kickingbird Classic in Edmond, Oklahoma, the Texas A&M University-Commerce men's golf team is in seventh out of 15 teams. As a team, the Lions posted a 594 (295-299) and find themselves 25 strokes behind first place and No. 8 St. Edward's, who shot a 579 (286-293).

The Lions are led by junior Blake Worden (Rowlett, Texas) leads A&M-Commerce with a 36-hole total of 147 (75-72), who is tied for 15th. Chance Tatum of host Central Oklahoma is the individual leader with a 138 (71-67 and two-under par for a five stroke lead over his closest competitor.

A&M-Commerce junior Pinkey Hartline (Lake Jackson, Texas) continues his strong play in the spring, shooting a 148 (74-74) and is tied for 25th. Statistically he was third among the field, posting seven birdies and was four under while playing par 5 holes.

Freshman Ryan Hickey (Langley, British Columbia) shot a season-best round of 72 in the first round and finished the day with a 153 (72-81) and is tied for 42nd. Sophomore Danny Jun (Langley, British Columbia) and junior Eric Westerman (Victoria, Texas) are tied for 45th with a 154. Jun matched a season-best round with a 74 on his first 18 and finished the day with an 80 and Westerman shot a 73 on his second 18 after shooting an 81 in the first 18.
 

 

The 84-person field will return to the course on Tuesday for a final round of 18 holes at 8 a.m.
