Texas A&M International University softball will play its inaugural home game on Wednesday afternoon against the Schreiner Mountaineers at Gateway Softball Field. The field is located at the intersection of Hillside and Daugherty at the City of Laredo Base Recreation Complex. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m.

TAMIU (2-12) enters the game after winning two contests at the Schutt Division II Lead-Off Classic over the weekend. It will be the season opener for Schreiner, a member of the NCAA Division III American Southwest Conference.
