Texas A&M International University returns to the diamond for the first time in 10 days this weekend when the Dustdevils resume Heartland Conference play at UT-Permian Basin. The Dustdevils and Falcons will play doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday with first pitch scheduled for noon each day at the UTPB Softball Field. TAMIU (11-17, 7-1 Heartland) enters play this weekend in third place in the conference standings, trailing undefeated St. Edward's (10-0) and St. Mary's (8-0). The Dustdevils have pushed off to the fast start in Heartland play by sweeping Newman in a four-game series and beating Panhandle State three out of four games on the home field. UT-Permian Basin (5-19, 0-8 Heartland) is at the bottom of the conference standings, tied for seventh place with Lincoln. The Falcons have been swept by St. Edward's and St. Mary's. |
