FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU track and field team will continue its outdoor season on Saturday with the John Jacobs Invitational in Norman, Okla. The meet will feature a high school division on Friday, while collegiate competition will begin Saturday morning.

"This meet will be a good meet for us to see where we are at. There is going to be a lot of competitive teams at Oklahoma this weekend," said head coach Darryl Anderson. "We have to continue to get better and keep improving day-by-day. The kids have had a good couple of days of practice so hopefully we will go into this weekend and continue to get some regional qualifiers."

The Flyin' Frogs will open competition Saturday in Norman with the women's javelin. Start time is set for 10 a.m. at the John Jacobs Complex. Running events are set to begin at 1 p.m. with the women's 4x100 relay, while the men will take to the track at 1:10 p.m. with the men's 4x100 relay.

In it's last outing, TCU's Kishelle Paul placed second overall in the women's 400-meter hurdles and the men's 4x100 unit recorded the eighth fastest time in the NCAA this spring to lead TCU on the final day of the 81st annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Overall, the Flyin' Frogs posted eight NCAA regional qualifying marks in Austin on Saturday.

Earning NCAA regional qualifying marks at Mike A. Myers Stadium were Kishelle Paul (400-meter hurdles), Candis Kelley (Shot Put), Virgil Hodge (100 meters), the men's and women's 4x100, Jonathan Jackson (Triple Jump) and the men's and women's 4x400 relay unit.

Information For This Weekend
Admission into the John Jacobs Invitational is free on Saturday. Fans attending the meet can find parking available in the eastern most portion of the Duck Pond parking lot. Oklahoma will also be hosting its annual Red vs. White Spring Game on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Men Ranked No. 24 Nationally
The Flyin' Frogs men's outdoor track & field team has cracked the national ranking in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) rankings at No. 24. The women fell outside of the top 25 at No. 27 after opening the season ranked No. 19.

Flyin' Frogs Against The World
At the Texas Relays, TCU's 4x100 unit consisting of Andon Mitchell, Otis McDaniel, Justyn Warner and Mychal Dungey clocked the 8th fastest collegiate time this spring on Saturday in a field that included the likes of Tyson Gay and several other world-class Olympic athletes. The unit, who's time is currently ranked in the top 20 in the world, recorded a seasonal best time of 39.70 seconds to finish fourth overall.

Purple And White Showing Up In World Rankings
The Flyin' Frogs 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 units on the men's side are currently ranked in the top 20 of the world standings. The 4x100 relay is sitting at No. 18 in the world standings, while the 4x200 unit has the No. 4 ranking in the world. Finally, the 4x400 squad heads into this weekend with the ninth fastest time in the world.

On the women's side, Kishelle Paul currently has the 16th fastest mark in the women's 400-meter hurdles. Both the 4x100 and 4x400 are ranked in the top 25 at No. 16 and No. 22, respectively, in the world standings.

Paul Honored By MWC
TCU junior Kishelle Paul was selected as the Mountain West Conference women's outdoor track and field athlete of the week on Tuesday. In Austin, Paul placed second overall at the Texas Relays in the women's 400-meter hurdles, clocking an NCAA regional-qualifying time of 57.84 seconds. Her mark is currently the top mark in the Mountain West Conference and the third best time in the NCAA. Paul, who's time of 57.84 seconds currently sits as the 16th fastest time clocked in the world, also ran a leg on both the TCU 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams.

Getting Off To A Fast Start
The Flyin' Frogs have a strong contingent that have fared well at the halfway point of this spring season nationally. Heading into the Texas Relays, seven different men, including the 4x100 and 4x400 relay, are ranked in the top 30 of the NCAA, while on the women's side, seven different athletes, including both relays, are currently sitting in the top 30 in the nation.

On the men's side, Jonathan Jackson leads the Flying Frogs at No. 4 overall in the triple jump. Freshman Mychal Dungey is currently ranking fifth overall in the men's 200, while Che Chavez currently sits at 19th overall in the 400. Finally, Tommy Killen entered the rankings after a solid weekend in Austin. Killen sits at No. 12 in the discus. The men's 4x400 is currently the eighth best unit in the nation, while the 4x100 unit is No. 8 in the NCAA.

In the throws, Joe Brown makes his second appearance at No. 23 in the javelin.

On the women's side, senior Virgil Hodge currently sits at No. 10 in the women's 100, while Kishelle Paul leads all individuals at No. 3 in the women's 100-meter hurdles. Both of TCU's relays are currently ranked in the top 10 of the NCAA, while sophomore Neidra Covington currently has the 18th best jump in the nation in the long jump. Finally, Candis Kelley is sitting at No. 23 in the women's shot put.

TCU In The MWC
Entering this weekend TCU has the top mark posted in 13 different events, including all four relays. All-in-all, the Purple and White have seven of the top marks posted on the men's side and six for the women.

Overall, the Flyin' Frogs have the top times in the 100, 200, 110m high hurdles, 4x100, 4x400, triple jump and long jump on the men's side. The Purple and White women claim the top spot in the 100, 100m high hurdles, 400m hurdles, 4x100, 4x400 and shot put.
