Horned Frogs tied for lead at Mountain West Conference Championships

Tucson, Ariz. - The TCU men's golf program will head into the final round of the Mountain West Conference Championships tied for the team lead with BYU at the Tucson National Golf Resort in Tucson, Ariz. The Horned Frogs - who came into the second round of action in second place - notched a score of 281 to move up one spot in the rankings with a total of 564 (283-281). BYU came on strong in the second round of the tournament as the Cougars posted the best score of the day at 278 while the first round's leader UNLV fell to third place after posting a score of 286. Reigning Mountain West Conference champion Robby Ormand (Austin, Texas/James Bowie H.S.) remains in contention for the tournament crown as the TCU junior notched a 67 in the second round of action en route to tying for second place on the leaderboard. Ormand has recorded a two-day tally of 140 (73-67) and sits one-shot back of the tournament leader Eddie Olson of UNLV. Franklin Corpening (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) finished the second day of action one-under-par following a score of 71 and 141 overall (70-71) en route to tying for fifth-place while James Sacheck (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville H.S.) is tied for seventh-place after notching a 70 in the second round and 142 (72-70) overall.
Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) and Jordan Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington H.S.) are both tied for 14th place as the TCU teammates recorded a two-day tally of 144. Travis Woolf finished his second round of action with a 73 while Jordan Woolf notched a 74 on the second set of 18 holes.
The third and final round of the Mountain West Conference Championships will be held on Saturday (Apr. 26) at the Tucson National Golf Resort in Tucson, Ariz. TCU Athletic Media Relations
